Comedian Scott Thompson, professionally known as Carrot Top, has been released from a Las Vegas hospital and is recovering at home with his family following a suicide attempt on September 18, 2026. The incident, which reportedly involved a suspected prescription drug overdose, resulted in the immediate cancellation of his scheduled performances at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. New details from 911 call recordings and police reports indicate that a female caller discovered the 61-year-old performer nearly unconscious by a pool, noting that his face was turning blue and his eyes were rolling back. Reports suggest Thompson may have sent a one-word text message, “Done,” to his manager prior to being found. During a conversation with his manager regarding an upcoming article containing allegations of sexual misconduct, Thompson reportedly expressed concern that his long-running Las Vegas residency would end. The hospitalization occurred amidst a legal dispute involving singer Brian Evans. Thompson’s legal team alleged that Evans attempted to extort $500,000 by threatening to release sexually explicit material. Evans has denied these allegations, claiming any such recording was previously deleted as part of a settlement. Thompson’s attorneys are currently seeking protective relief against Evans. Recent reports indicate that legal filings have also included allegations of sexual misconduct from other individuals. Thompson’s attorneys have characterized these claims as “malicious attempts to coerce payment.” While Thompson remains under medical supervision at home, his representatives stated noted he is doing well and has been sharing moments of humor with medical staff. staff during his recovery.
