Luxury hotels and brands across Southeast and East Asia continue to launch premium mooncake collections for the 2026 Mid‑Autumn Festival, emphasizing artisanal packaging and unique flavor profiles. In Taiwan, the Royal Hotel Group introduced the “Moonlight Chess Encounter” series, featuring wooden double-layer boxes utilizing Japanese kumiko techniques. Hanh Yu Hotel debuted two sets: an LED-lit wooden case and a container featuring artwork by Slovenian illustrator Maja Lubi. Newer offerings include Hyatt Regency Taoyuan Airport’s “Crossing Mountains and Seas” set, which uses bird motifs and blue and gold color schemes, and Kaohsiung’s “Moonlight Tiger” collection by Hu Cheng Dian, which incorporates traditional Tiger God culture. Evergreen Hotels has expanded its seasonal presence with diverse regional offerings, including handmade chocolate mooncakes in Taichung, French-style butter pastries in Chiayi, and tea-infused varieties in Jiaoxi. Additionally, Yu Xiang Xian has introduced the “Wu Jin Jing Yue Zhi Li” gift box, which integrates premium mullet roe—described as “amber of the sea”—into molten lava mooncakes and mille-feuille rolls. Taipei Manulife Hotel has also joined the seasonal rollout with its “Starry Sky” series, inspired by the hotel’s lobby art, offering flavors such as custard lava, apple, blueberry cheese, matcha mochi, and Cantonese-style XO scallop. In Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur market features the Concorde Hotel’s “Mid-Autumn Treasured Petals” collection, which uses boxes decorated with real pressed flowers from Yunnan and offers varieties like Imperial Musang King Durian. Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur’s “Celestial Duality” collection pairs mooncakes with locally roasted coffee, while Venchi Malaysia’s “Moonstream Collection” blends Italian chocolate craftsmanship with jade rabbit-inspired designs. In Singapore, the seasonal rollout includes the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel’s combinations such as Golden Black Truffle with Parma ham, alongside snowskin options like sea-salt chocolate with Baileys praline. Mandarin Oriental has partnered with Shanghai Tang to provide a “Moonlit Elegance” set housed in a reusable jewellery box. Vietnam’s premium market has also entered its peak season. Metropole Hanoi has released a limited edition lacquerware collection to commemorate its 125th anniversary, developed with the Bat Trang Museum Atelier.
