House Democrats call for special counsel to investigate Trump-Epstein ties

House Judiciary Committee Democrats have released a 53-page report calling for the appointment of an independent special counsel to investigate President Donald Trump’s alleged criminal connections to Jeffrey Epstein. The report, released ahead of the midterm elections, alleges that Trump may have been actively involved in Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s.

The document includes testimonies from 11 women, five of whom directly accuse Trump of rape or sexual assault in the presence of or in connection with Epstein. One notable account comes from former Swiss pageant contestant Beatrice Keul, who alleges Trump raped her in November 1993 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Keul claims that Epstein introduced them and that Trump subsequently offered her assistance with a U.S. visa and university admission.

Democrats also accused the Justice Department of withholding or improperly redacting evidence related to the case. The White House has denied all allegations, characterizing the report as a political distraction. While Trump’s name appears thousands of times in the released Epstein files, he has not been charged with any crime related to Epstein’s activities.
