Following Houthi attacks involving ballistic missiles and drones targeting Saudi Arabian cities such as Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif, regional actors have expressed solidarity with the Kingdom. In mid-September, Egypt condemned the strikes as a violation of international law, stating that the national security of both Egypt and Saudi Arabia is “interconnected and inseparable.” These attacks occurred alongside shifts in the Yemeni battlefield, including Houthi claims of control over strategic areas like Mayun Island. By October, support for Saudi Arabia continued to emerge from other regional leaders. Samir Geagea, leader of the Lebanese Forces, expressed support following attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Geagea criticized the Houthi movement for targeting civilian and economic infrastructure despite previous efforts to reach a solution in 2023. In mid-October, the United Arab Emirates joined the regional condemnation. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as a “flagrant violation” of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and reaffirmed its support for measures taken to safeguard the Kingdom’s security and stability. Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, offering prayers for the country’s security.
