Huawei has expanded its audio lineup with the release of the FreeBuds Neo, marketed as ‘New Energy On’. Available in silver, pink, black, and white, these earbuds feature a compact design, a third-generation audio chip, and a Turbo driver unit supporting LDAC HD audio and 360-degree head tracking. The device offers up to 10 hours of use per charge (6.5 hours with noise cancellation enabled), totaling 40 hours with the charging case. Positioned between the budget FreeBuds SE and the flagship FreeBuds Pro series, the Neo is priced between approximately €109 and ~~€130.~~ €130, or under Rp2 million in Indonesia. Technical updates indicate the Neo features dual-channel adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) providing up to 30 dB of reduction, optimized for mid-to-high frequency sounds like wind and voices. For calls, the device utilizes three microphones and a VPU bone conduction sensor to maintain clarity in environments with up to 95 dB of noise. The hardware includes an 11 mm Turbo driver with a frequency range of 10 Hz to 48 kHz and an IP55 rating. Connectivity is supported via Bluetooth 6.0, offering compatibility across Android, iOS, and Windows, with a Bluetooth range of up to 170 meters under ideal conditions. The third-generation chip can process environmental data 400,000 times per second with a latency of 8 microseconds. For gamers, the HUAWEI Audio Connect app allows for sound effect configuration to identify acoustic signals like footsteps. In Indonesia, the Neo was launched alongside the Nova 16s smartphone series. To promote the earbuds, Huawei collaborated with the girl group MARBLES. Following the Neo, Huawei unveiled the FreeBuds 7, which utilizes a semi-open design without silicone ear tips. Additionally, Huawei introduced the FreeClip 2, a new generation of open-ear wireless headphones.
