In July 2026, LanTu Motor introduced the Chase Light S electric SUV, featuring Huawei’s QianKun ADS 5 driver-assist system. By early August, Huawei expanded its automotive portfolio with the Luxeed RX, a premium electric SUV co-developed with Chery using the Tuling autonomous-driving platform and “Giant Whale” battery architecture. Following inquiries from Ferrari regarding design similarities to the Purosangue, Luxeed revealed that the RX was designed by Werner Gruber, who served as a Senior Lead Exterior Designer at Ferrari between 2010 and 2018. The RX is offered in a rear-wheel-drive version (371 hp, 81 kWh battery) and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version (585 hp, 100 kWh battery) with a 0-100 km/h acceleration of approximately 3.3 seconds. Pre-sale pricing starts at approximately 299,800 yuan. By 22 late August 2026, Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance reported strong demand across its brands. The Stelato G9 secured over 5,000 orders within 24 hours of launch, with high-end Ultra and Ultra+ models accounting for over 95% of those orders. Similarly, 90% of orders for the Luxeed RX’s L3-level autonomous driving architecture version were placed within the first 24 hours of its pre-sale period. Early buyers of the Luxeed RX reportedly include owners of premium brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, and BMW. Competition in the premium electric segment intensified as Yijing Auto, a collaboration between Dongfeng and Huawei, opened pre-sales for its X9 flagship model, priced between 299,800 and 379,800 yuan. The X9 utilizes a ‘full-stack native co-creation’ model with Huawei. Additionally, the Luxeed G9 flagship SUV launched with prices starting at 429,800 yuan, also securing 5,000 orders within its first 24 hours.
