Huawei has initiated the rollout of its HarmonyOS 7 operating system, which features a redesigned visual interface, enhanced privacy protections, and deeper artificial intelligence integration. The initial phased rollout targets flagship and mid-range devices, including the Mate 80, Mate 70, Mate X7, Mate X6, Mate XTs, Pura 90, Pura 80, Pura X, Nova 16, and Nova 15 series. Older models are expected to enter beta testing in October 2026. Following the OS rollout, To expand ecosystem interoperability, Huawei released the HarmonyOS Galaxy Connect app on the Apple App Store. This application enables direct pairing between select Huawei smartphones—such as the Pura X View, Mate 90 series, and Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design—and Apple devices like the Apple Watch and AirPods. The app allows for the synchronization of calls, SMS, and notifications, notification summaries, as well as battery information viewing and mutual device-finding capabilities. Connectivity requires watchOS 10.0 or higher and HarmonyOS 7.0.0.109 or higher. Further HarmonyOS 7 updates have expanded to the Watch Ultimate 2 and Watch FIT 5 series, introducing enhanced health analytics such as physical readiness assessments, improved sleep monitoring, and pulse wave arrhythmia analysis for the Watch FIT 5 Pro. The rollout also includes the nova 12 and 13 smartphone series, which receive features like remote file sharing, 3D space wallpapers, and AI-driven fraud detection through voice change recognition and web risk monitoring.
