Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot announced a has expanded its partnership with contemporary artist Jeff Koons, naming him a brand ambassador. The collaboration seeks to merge high watchmaking with Koons’s artistic style, focusing on transforming familiar forms into extraordinary objects Koons through technical precision. Following the initial announcement, the partnership was expanded to include the production unveiling of two distinct limited-edition timepieces, specifically collections: the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog and the MP-14 Origin models. Hublot CEO Julien Tornare stated that the collaboration Origin. The Classic Fusion Balloon Dog collection draws inspiration from Koons’s inflatable sculptures, featuring a voluminous architecture with domed sapphire crystals and a crown designed to resemble a balloon knot. Available in mirror-polished stainless steel, red anodized aluminum, or blue anodized aluminum, each version is limited to 200 pieces and powered by the HUB1710 automatic movement. The MP-14 Origin, part of the Exceptional Timepieces collection, is a broader strategic effort more technical release limited to reclaim 30 pieces. Utilizing sapphire, titanium, and gem-set white gold, the brand’s position model serves as an industry trend-setter and maintain its identity of ‘The Art Hublot’s first automatic central tourbillon. The name MP-14 honors the street number of Fusion’ the New Museum in New York, where Koons held his first solo exhibition in 1980. CEO Julien Tornare characterized the collaboration as an “extraordinary exercise in engineering and craftsmanship,” continuing the company brand’s strategic effort to merge high-end horology with contemporary art as it approaches its 50th anniversary in 2030.
