In early October 2026, humanitarian and symbolic journeys were launched in Turkey to advocate for children's rights and express solidarity with children in conflict zones, specifically targeting the Turkey-Iran border region. One initiative, the ‘Right to Life March’, involved child development expert Tanyel Süzer walking 1,000 kilometers from the Iranian border toward Kilis to raise awareness about child rights violations, including abuse and limited healthcare access. Concurrently, the ‘Minab Bicycle Caravan’ commenced a 3,000-kilometer journey from Diyarbakır toward Minab, Iran, via Van. Comprised of six volunteers, the group travels along the historic Silk Road to protest war policies and honor the memory of 168 children killed in a previous attack on a school in Minab. The cyclists carry school bags containing letters, drawings, and stationery created by Turkish children to deliver to families in Minab as a gesture of solidarity and resistance. On October 8, the Minab Bicycle Caravan reached Van, Turkey, after departing Diyarbakır on October 2. Following a stop at Van City Square, the group, which uses school bags as saddlebags to transport gifts such as toys and drawings, plans to cross into Iran to continue the journey toward Minab. Caravan spokesperson Cengiz Yargıç stated the mission is a response to attacks on Minab, aiming to promote peace and brotherhood among children.
