Additionally, the book ‘Polaroid:’ by Gábor Veres examines the history of instant photography in Hungary, including the work of local inventors who utilized Polaroid techniques in the late 1980s. On August 29, Hungarian Photography Day further celebrates the medium’s evolution from a technical recording tool to an independent artistic language. The day highlights the nation’s significant historical contributions, beginning with Antal Vállas, who presented the first public daguerreotype in Hungary in 1840. The celebration also honors global figures such as André Kertész, Robert Capa, Márton Munkácsi, and László Moholy-Nagy, alongside notable contributors including György Kepes, Lucien Hervé, and Éva Besnyő.
