Hungarian Prima arts awards and nominations
Overview
The Junior Prima Awards were held in Budapest to recognize seven artists under the age of thirty in theater, film, and dance. Following these presentations, the Prima Primissima Foundation released its list of nominees for its annual awards ceremony scheduled for December 4.
The foundation selected 30 nominees from approximately 900 submissions across categories including literature, science, sport, and music. While the Junior Prima recipients were honored for their work in performing arts, the upcoming Prima Primissima gala will select ten individuals from the 30 nominees to receive top honors. Nominees such as musician János Bródy and bassoonist György Lakatos were highlighted. The foundation noted that this year’s list is perceived as “more politically neutral than previous years.”
Award recipients will receive various cash prizes, with the top Prima Primissima and audience awards valued at 20 million HUF each, and the standard Prima awards valued at 8 million HUF.
