Hungarian Minister of Transport and Investment Dávid Vitézy has introduced initiatives to address housing and infrastructure challenges in Hungary. To combat a housing crisis characterized by rising prices and a shortage of student accommodation, the government announced the Wekerle Sándor Housing Program. This year, over 700 kilometers of roads are being improved through works by Magyar Közút and external contractors. Regarding investment regulations, the ministry previously announced the revocation of ‘accelerated procedure’ status for several major projects facing local opposition, such as the Láng Machine Factory and the Pázmány Campus, to ensure local zoning and height restrictions are respected.
