Icona Pop 2026 Ritual Tour and Album Release
In late July 2026, Swedish synth‑pop duo Icona Pop announced a four‑date North American tour to support their upcoming album Ritual, with shows slated for Brooklyn (Sept 25), Chicago (Oct 2), a yet‑to‑be‑named venue in Las Vegas (Nov 20) and Los Angeles (Nov 21). Ticket presales began immediately, with general sales opening on July 31. A few days later, the tour plan was expanded to include a Scandinavian leg. Additional concerts were listed in Gothenburg, Lund, Oslo, Norrköping, Stockholm and Copenhagen, before the North American leg resumed in November. The announcement reiterated the album’s release date (Aug 14, 2026) and highlighted singles such as “Yellow Top,” “Ritual” (featuring Daya), “Dance To This,” and “Butterfly Feelings.” On August 14, 2026, the duo released the 10-track album via Ultra Records and Iconic Sound Recordings. The project follows a transitional period for members Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, who both became mothers and relocated from Los Angeles back to Sweden. The album explores themes of motherhood, heartbreak, anxiety, and personal reinvention. The focus track, “Hurt,” is accompanied by a visualizer and is described as a transition from heartbreak to acceptance. The duo noted that the recording process served as a therapeutic way to explore emotions without strict creative rules, stating, “the dance floor is where we find ourselves and each other again.”
