IKEA and Bethesda Game Studios launched a digital crossover for the video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The collaboration was initially announced as a digital integration through the game’s Creations mode, following IKEA’s previous interest in the gaming sector. The resulting update, titled ‘Kallax Storageborn’, was released as a free Creation for PC and Xbox players. The Developed in partnership with the agency Mother and Kinggath Creations, the content features a fully voiced companion modeled after the IKEA Kallax storage unit, voiced by actor Matt Berry. Players can summon this companion using a custom Dragon Shout, ‘AYE-KEY-YAH’, to assist with inventory management. The mod includes a dedicated questline that begins when a player becomes over-encumbered, leading them through new dungeons to assemble the shelf. Additional elements of the crossover include a dedicated quest, two IKEA-themed dungeons, a boss fight against a ‘Clutter Golem’, Golem’ and various themed items such as a ‘Meatball Helmet’ and Helmet’, a ‘Dwemer Allen Key’. Key’, and an ‘Allenblade’ sword. While currently available for PC and Xbox via the Bethesda Creations platform, a PlayStation release is expected soon.
