Illegal weapons arrests in Italy

Overview

Italian authorities have conducted separate law enforcement operations resulting in the arrest of individuals for illegal weapons possession.

In the Rodigino region, a man in Pontecchio Polesine was arrested after cybersecurity officials flagged social media posts featuring knives, ammunition, and alleged self-made explosive devices. A search of his residence led to the seizure of an inert homemade device, illegal bullets, knives, a modified blank-firing pistol, and handwritten instructions for manufacturing explosives.

In Catania, police arrested a 33-year-old man following an investigation into illegal weapons. During a search of a garage in the San Giovanni Galermo district, officers discovered a shotgun, cartridges, and various types of ammunition. The suspect has been placed under house arrest.
