Overview
Author and Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn reported being involved in a mid-air altercation on an American Airlines flight traveling from Dallas to Newark. Cahn stated that a 67-year-old passenger, Arthur Layne Lundeen, underwent a sudden behavioral shift during a conversation in first class.
Cahn described the passenger’s actions as involving verbal threats, blasphemy, and racial or homophobic slurs. The situation escalated into a physical struggle when the passenger allegedly lunged at Cahn and attempted to grab his laptop. The disturbance, which also reportedly included the abuse of a flight attendant, forced the pilot to declare an emergency and land the aircraft in Baltimore.
To maintain control, fellow passengers and crew members restrained the individual using zip ties and duct tape. Following the incident, some religious leaders have characterized the passenger’s sudden change in behavior as a spiritual or demonic manifestation.
