The city of St. Cloud has reported various criminal and traffic-related incidents. In late September, police took two male suspects into custody following an assault on 15th Street South, where a group of boys reportedly attacked another boy and struck an intervening woman with a bat. In October, the city experienced a series of significant traffic accidents. These included a collision between two police vehicles during an emergency response, a life-threatening accident involving a school bus and a pedestrian, and a vehicle striking an adult and two children at an intersection. Recent reports detail two additional distinct traffic incidents. On a Friday morning, a Honda Accord collided with a semi-truck on eastbound Interstate 94 in Stearns County. The 22-year-old driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Cloud Hospital, while three passengers and the semi-truck driver were uninjured. On a Wednesday afternoon, two children, aged six and 10, were struck by a vehicle while using a crosswalk at the intersection of 15th Avenue SE and University Drive SE. The children sustained substantial, non-life-threatening injuries, and the six-year-old was airlifted to a children’s hospital. A 56-year-old St. Cloud resident was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
