The Indian cricket team’s schedule for the 2026-27 period includes a combination of domestic home series and international tours. JioStar announced ‘The Great Indian Cricket Festival’, a five-month home season running from late September 2026 to March 2027, featuring matches against the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Australia. Following a 1-0 Test series victory against Sri Lanka, India is scheduled to tour New Zealand in November 2026 for two Test matches in Wellington and Christchurch. This tour is considered critical for the World Test Championship 2025-27 standings. The domestic season begins in mid-September with three T20Is against Afghanistan in Delhi. The West Indies tour, scheduled from September 27 to October 18, includes five T20Is and a three-match ODI series. Cricket West Indies has announced its squads, with Shai Hope captaining both the ODI and T20I sides. Notable West Indies roster updates include the return of John Campbell to the ODI squad, the maiden T20I call-up for Kamil Pooran, and the inclusion of Jewel Andrew in the ODI squad to replace Ackeem Auguste. Shimron Hetmyer is also expected to join for the T20I leg, while veteran all-rounder Jason Holder has been rested. The first two ODIs will conclude the automatic qualification cycle for the ICC Men’s 50-Over World Cup. India’s squads for the series have been finalized: Shubman Gill will lead the ODI side, while Shreyas Iyer is set to captain the T20I team. The ODI squad features veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Matches will be held in cities including Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, and Mohali. Tickets for the first match in Thiruvananthapuram reportedly sold out within 24 hours. Head Coach Daren Sammy noted the series is a vital platform to assess players for the 2027 and 2028 World Cups. In early 2027, India will host a five-match Test series against Australia, beginning in Nagpur on January 21, as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
