The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has deepened its national fleet‑renewal programme with MoUs covering Mahindra & Mahindra and SML Mahindra, offering 8 % discounts, 5 % interest subvention, fuel vouchers and tax concessions for new electric trucks and buses in Delhi‑NCR. CJ Darcl Logistics and the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) will pilot heavy‑electric trucks, charging and battery‑swap infrastructure on the Bengaluru‑Chennai corridor. Ashok Leyland installed a 1.5 MW rooftop solar plant at its Lucknow electric‑bus factory, supplying roughly half the plant’s power. TVS Motor and Indian Oil will use electric King Kargo HD trucks for LPG‑cylinder delivery through a network of over 13,000 distributors, while Tata Motors and Castrol India test a used‑engine‑oil circularity system in Karnataka. IFP Petro and BPCL signed an MoU to create a nationwide used‑lubricating‑oil collection and re‑refining ecosystem. Mahindra’s total vehicle sales rose 37 % in June 2026, with electric three‑wheelers surging 63 %. EV registrations hit a record 30,592 units in June, pushing overall EV market share above 12 % of retail sales. The PM E‑DRIVE scheme has supported 26.5 lakh EVs to date, earmarked 14 000 e‑buses and approved 5 871 chargers across 9 nine states.
