Reports indicate significant growth projections for India’s quick commerce market, which is expected to reach a valuation between $70 billion and $90 billion by 2031. This represents a substantial increase from the $13 billion valuation anticipated for 2026. Growth is expected to be driven by both metro and non-metro markets. Metro markets are projected to account for approximately 60% of total growth, with platforms expanding into non-grocery categories and bulk purchases. Non-metro markets are expected to contribute roughly 40% of growth, with monthly transacting users potentially rising from 12–16 million to between 55 million and 60 million. Recent analysis from Emkay suggests the sector is poised for accelerated growth, with net order value (NOV) expected to rise by as much as 21.6 per cent quarter-on-quarter in Q2FY27. This acceleration is attributed to industry consolidation, higher minimum order values, and reduced discounts. In comparison, the food delivery segment is projected to maintain steady momentum with an expected year-on-year growth of approximately 18 per cent in order value, amid anticipated intensification of competition during the festive season. Additionally, the implementation of a 0.4 per cent merchant discount rate (MDR) on UPI transactions, effective October 15, is noted as a critical factor for the sector.
