On August 3, opposition MPs staged a protest in the Lok Sabha demanding that Amit Shah answer questions about the July 20 crackdown. Banners and slogans such as “Amit Shah Jawab Do” were displayed, and leaders including Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and K.C. Venugopal called for Shah’s resignation. The protest forced Speaker Om Birla to adjourn the House, halting Question Hour.
