On September 16, 2026, three mainboard initial public offerings (IPOs) opened for subscription in India, including SS Retail, Jindal Supreme, and Hero Motors. Collectively, the companies aimed to raise approximately ₹1,625 crore. Hero Motors launched the largest offering, seeking ₹1,000 crore through a combination of a fresh issue and an offer for sale. By September 23, Hero Motors debuted on the NSE and BSE. The shares listed at a discount, opening at ₹82 on the NSE and ₹82.10 on the BSE, which represented a discount of approximately 2.26% to 2.38% from the final issue price of ₹84 per share. The IPO saw a total subscription of 6.66 times, with non-institutional investors leading the subscription at 9.86 times. Following the initial discount, Hero Motors experienced a significant post-listing rally. By Friday, September 25, the share price hit an intraday high of ₹141.85, representing a nearly 69% increase from its original IPO price. This surge was attributed to strong secondary-market demand, investor optimism regarding the company’s electric vehicle (EV) and powertrain exposure, and a large block deal involving approximately 2.4 crore shares valued at ₹281 crore. Total turnover across the BSE and NSE reached ₹1,435.5 crore on the first day of trading.
