The recruitment wave across Indian public‑sector enterprises continued through August 2026, with a heavy emphasis on apprenticeship programmes. Earlier in the year, HLL Lifecare announced associate‑manager posts and walk‑in drives for medical and laboratory roles. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) conducted multiple hiring cycles, including junior-executive posts and 358 graduate-apprentice trainee slots. In the power sector, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) announced 270 apprentices across ten regional establishments for ITI, diploma, and graduate roles. The Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station (SGTPS), under MPPGCL, opened 95 ITI apprentice positions restricted to Madhya Pradesh residents. In Gujarat, Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) is hiring seven Diploma Mechanical Engineers on fixed-term contracts, while Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) announced apprentice training for various disciplines at its Baroda and Dahej plants. Newer announcements in late August include Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) in Andhra Pradesh recruiting 20 Trade Apprentices via interview, and Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU) in Hisar announcing 377 apprentice vacancies across 25 ITI trades, such as electrician and welder. Other major announcements included Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in Tiruchirappalli seeking 380 Trade Apprentices, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Nasik announcing 627 apprentice positions. Haryana State Transport also invited applications for eight ITI trades in Karnal.
