In late July 2026 Indonesia rolled out digital tools for its social assistance. The Cek Bansos app and a unified digital identity (IKD) linked to the 16‑digit National Identity Number were promoted in workshops, including a session in Malang attended by 138 officials. The government earmarked Rp508.2 trillion for 2026 and piloted a Digital Social Protection Portal in 43 districts, with Surabaya achieving a 99.82 % data‑collection rate. Surabaya’s municipal test of the Perlinsos platform expanded the earlier re‑verification effort. Using face‑recognition and cross‑checks with utility, police and land‑registry data, the system registered 334,560 households through agents and 62,673 directly, confirming eligibility for 119,000 families and adding about 51,000 previously excluded households – roughly 175,000 individuals. Officials said the technology aims to eliminate both inclusion and exclusion errors. At The House of Representatives (Komisi II DPR) and the same time, Ministry of Home Affairs have backed the digitalisation push, urging citizens to update civil‑registration data and activate their IKD at Dukcapil offices. The National Social‑Economic Single Data (DTSEN) will be refreshed every three to four months, feeding the Perlinsos portal with up‑to‑date records on employment, asset ownership and electricity consumption. The Cek Bansos mobile app now allows self‑nominations by entering the family‑card number and NIK, automating eligibility checks. Meanwhile, the city’s Gen Z Intervention Program, intended to curb youth unemployment, had absorbed only about 2 % of its Rp47 billion budget by the third quarter, with activity in just four or five of 31 districts. The regional council warned the program could be revised or dropped in the 2027 budget if performance does not improve.
