Faunaland, the future manager of Bandung Zoo, began preparations for its management role by hosting a delegation from India’s Vantara team. This visit focused on knowledge exchange regarding animal welfare, nutrition, and veterinary services, including a field review of a Sumatran elephant by Vantara veterinarian Dr. Yaduraj Khadpekar. Faunaland CEO Danny Gunalen indicated the company aims to implement a modern city zoo concept integrating urban conservation with education. Following these initial steps, Indonesia’s Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, announced an expanded partnership between the Indonesian government, PT Fauna Land Group, and Vantara to strengthen national wildlife health and in situ conservation infrastructure. While leveraging Vantara’s expertise in veterinary care and animal husbandry, Minister Antoni emphasized that all facilities and programs established through this cooperation will be owned and managed by the Indonesian government to ensure alignment with national priorities. In a formal announcement in Jakarta, the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry confirmed the partnership with Vantara, a global wildlife conservation initiative founded by Anant Ambani. The collaboration, which includes PT Fauna Land Group, will focus on technical consultancy, infrastructure development, and field personnel training. Vantara CEO Vivaan Karani stated that the organization intends to share its expertise in wildlife health and veterinary care to help protect Indonesia’s unique biodiversity.
