On October 5, 2026, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was appointed Chief of Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), succeeding Dudung Abdurachman. The transition occurred during a formal ceremony at the Presidential Palace, where Abdurachman, who moved to the role of Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, highlighted the KSP’s role in implementing President Prabowo Subianto’s national strategies. By November 3, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto dismissed Listyo Sigit Prabowo following his designation as a suspect in an illegal wiretapping scandal. Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) allege that Listyo Sigit, along with two other high-ranking officers, Ahrie Sonta Nasution and Eko Hadi Santoso, used the Lawful Interception Management System (LIMS) to conduct unauthorized interceptions of communications belonging to the President, cabinet ministers, politicians, journalists, activists, and others businesspeople between 2025 and 2026. The suspects are also accused of ordering the deletion of intercepted files and electronic logs in October 2026 to conceal their activities. The case reportedly came to light following a report from a technical officer on October 30, 2026. Government officials stated these actions could be categorized as acts tending toward treason. Lieutenant General Aryo Windutomo has been appointed as the Acting Chief of Staff while the suspects remain in detention.
