To mark the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), various regional branches have highlighted disaster preparedness and humanitarian service. In Banten Province, the PMI is establishing Community-Based Disaster Preparedness (Sibat) units in 53 villages to address risks such as landslides and flooding. Meanwhile, in Batang Regency, the organization conducted simulations to mitigate forest and land fire risks during the dry season. In Padang City, local leadership emphasized the PMI’s role in environmental health crises, specifically haze mitigation, and noted the importance of synergy with the ‘Padang Sigap 112’ emergency response service. The anniversary celebrations in Padang also included recognizing 88 individuals for donating blood 100 times each. On September 19, 2026, celebrations continued under the national theme, ‘Peduli, Bergerak, Bersama’ (Care, Move, Together). In Kendal, activities included a healthy walk with roughly 1,500 participants and a home renovation assistance program in Caruban Village. Kendal Regent Dyah Kartika Permanasari highlighted the need for cross-sector collaboration to strengthen humanitarian values. In South Tangerang, events in Keranggan Village featured blood donations, health screenings, and the distribution of clean water. PMI South Tangerang Chairperson Airin Rachmi Diany noted that the organization relies on collective action to provide community benefits.
