Infanta Sofía, the younger daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, has relocated to Paris to begin her second year of university studies. Following an initial year in Lisbon, she is enrolled at Forward College, a private institution affiliated with the University of London, where she is studying Political Science and International Relations. To foster autonomy and a sense of normalcy, Sofía has reportedly applied to the college using her civil name, Sofía de Borbón Ortiz, rather than her royal title. Boris Walbaum, the founder and president of Forward College, confirmed that the 19-year-old underwent the same admission and interview processes as other candidates and requested to be treated as an ordinary student without special treatment or royal privileges. Sofía will reside at the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris. While she will have official protection, it is intended to operate discreetly to preserve her privacy and allow for a standard student routine. Despite her studies abroad, she has expressed her intention to continue fulfilling her institutional responsibilities in Spain. Her academic program is designed to be itinerant, with her third year expected to take place in Berlin.
