Infrastructure failures and deteriorating road conditions have created significant safety hazards in parts of Argentina and Mexico. Initial reports highlighted asphalt collapses in Valle Viejo, Catamarca, following sewage system construction, and hazardous transit conditions in Mexico. In Las Juntas, highway construction obstructed pedestrian paths, while in Puerto Vallarta, unfinished works and recent rains reduced Avenida Politécnico Nacional to single-lane traffic. As the situation progressed, residents in both countries began responding to government neglect. In Lomas de Enmedio, Mexico, citizens started performing improvised repairs using shovels and dirt to fill potholes and create drainage. In La Plata, Argentina, residents reported that large craters on Calle 15 were causing vehicle damage, including broken tires and dented bodies, leading to calls for urgent government intervention. In Catamarca, the crisis has expanded to a political level. Provincial deputy Francisco Monti denounced the deterioration of the road network in the El Alto department, specifically citing impassable access routes to Chalcán, Guayamba, and Tintigasta. Monti warned that a lack of maintenance by the Provincial Road Directorate is negatively impacting the livestock and agricultural sectors by hindering the transport of goods.
