The state of Bahia is implementing various infrastructure and service expansions across different sectors. In the realm of public security and logistics, the Brazilian Union authorized the transfer of land in Vitória da Conquista for a new Federal Police headquarters to replace current rented facilities. Additionally, Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues declared land in Ilhéus a public utility to facilitate the development of the Porto Sul port complex, which is linked to the Fiol railway extension. Simultaneously, health authorities are working to strengthen regional medical networks. Efforts include integrating health care networks in the southern macro-region and conducting primary care outreach in rural Itabuna. In Paulo Afonso, infrastructure projects are underway, including the expansion of ophthalmic surgeries and the construction of the new University Hospital of Paulo Afonso, which is expected to be completed in the first half of next year. Recent developments in transportation include an announcement from the Ministry of Ports and Airports regarding over R$ 180 million in investments for airport expansions. The Paulo Afonso airport is slated to receive R$ 106.3 million to upgrade infrastructure, enabling the terminal to accommodate larger aircraft and facilitate commercial flights to Salvador and São Paulo. Additionally, the Lençóis airport in the Chapada Diamantina region will receive R$ 80.3 million to increase passenger capacity and strengthen tourism. Both facilities will be managed by GRU Airport.
