International flamenco dance festivals and productions are scheduled across the United States and Spain. In Washington, D.C., the 22nd Fuego Flamenco International Festival is set for November, featuring works such as ‘La velada’ by Marta Gálvez and the world premiere of ‘Entre dos sombras’ by the Flamenco Aparicio Dance Company. Concurrently in Spain, the Ciutat Flamenco festival in Barcelona will highlight Catalan talent, including José Maldonado’s ‘Dansat con Guacamayo’. In León, Spain, performances include Rafaela Carrasco’s ‘CreaVIVA’, which blends flamenco with Greco-Latin poetry, and the Compañía Antonio Gades’ production of ‘Carmen’ at the 54th Cervantino International Festival. New cultural celebrations are scheduled for late October. In Monda, Spain, the municipality will host the II Encuentro de Letristas Flamencos, featuring the inaugural ‘Ruta de Letras Flamencas’. This initiative aims to merge literary creation with local heritage by turning the town’s streets and squares into an open stage, concluding with a performance by the Peña Flamenca Alcazarín de Monda. In Venado Tuerto, Argentina, the Asociación Española will host the third edition of ‘La Noche Flamenca, más flamenca’. Organized by Belén Arlandi and Isabel Angeloni, the event combines Spanish dance performances by various age groups with a traditional paella dinner to promote Spanish culture within the local community.
