A coalition of 80 nations, led by Bahrain, has issued an urgent call at the United Nations for the immediate and full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The group demands safe, secure, and unimpeded passage for all commercial vessels, specifically requesting that no illegal tolls, conditions, or charges be imposed on transit.

The joint statement, delivered during the UN General Assembly, strongly condemns Iranian actions in the Strait of Hormuz, stating they threaten international security and navigational freedoms. The coalition also condemned the Houthi militia for resuming armed conflict in Yemen and conducting attacks against Saudi Arabia and in the Red Sea.

Furthermore, the group warned that Houthi advances toward the Bab el-Mandeb strait increase risks to global trade, maritime security, and energy supplies. The statement reaffirmed support for UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which previously condemned attacks against several Gulf nations and Jordan.
