Vietnam has received several international accolades in the tourism and aviation sectors during October 2026. Multiple Vietnamese destinations were recognized at the 2026 World Travel Awards. Hanoi secured titles as ‘Asia’s Leading City Break ~~Destination’ and~~ Destination’—marking its fifth consecutive win in this category since 2022—and ‘Vietnam’s Leading City Cultural Destination’. In Son La province, Ta Xua was named ‘Asia’s Emerging Tourism ~~Destination’,~~ Destination’ for the first time, while Moc Chau was honored as ‘Asia’s Leading Natural ~~Destination’.~~ Destination’ for the fifth consecutive year. Following these regional tourism awards, Vietnam Airlines was named the ‘World’s Best Culinary Airline 2026’ at the 7th annual World Culinary ~~Awards held in Jamaica.~~ Awards. This marks the first time an Asian airline has won this category, breaking a four-year winning streak by Air France and surpassing major competitors such as Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Turkish Airlines. The airline achieved this recognition by integrating traditional Vietnamese flavors—including Pho, Bun Bo Hue, Mi Quang, and Banh Mi Hoi An—with modern presentation. Its culinary strategy emphasizes the use of domestic agricultural products and seasonal specialties, such as lychees from Luc Ngan and macadamia nuts from Dien Bien, to enhance the in-flight experience. To maintain quality at high altitudes, the airline tailors dishes to specific routes and cabin classes, focusing on preserving authentic flavors. These efforts are part of a broader strategic goal to reach five-star service standards by 2030.
