International musical figures and organizations have organized events to support Cuba amid a severe humanitarian and energy crisis. In August 2026, Spanish singer Silvia Pérez Cruz scheduled a free concert in Old Havana, describing the performance as an “act of love” to connect with the population during a period of power outages lasting over 20 hours. By September 2026, solidarity efforts expanded to Bilbao, Spain, where Basque groups organized a march and a concert by Silvio Rodríguez. This demonstration aimed to protest the economic and energy blockade imposed by the United States. The event also supported the “Argia eta Indarra Kubarentzat” campaign, an initiative that has raised nearly 245,000 euros to install solar energy systems in Cuban hospitals, including the William Soler Pediatric Hospital in Havana. As part of his 2026 tour, Silvio Rodríguez also performed in Zaragoza at the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe. In Bilbao, his performance at the Palacio Euskalduna became a focal point for political activism. Local collectives, including Euskal Herria Kuba Ekimena, Hegoak, and Euskadi Cuba, organized a demonstration titled ‘Ojalá… Kuba Blokeorik Gabe’.
