Following her historic victory at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Bulgarian singer DARA has seen her winning track, ‘Bangaranga’, gain significant international traction. In the wake of her win, British DJ Jax Jones engaged with the artist on social media, playfully challenging her to perform the song at 120 BPM while running. DARA accepted the challenge enthusiastically, suggesting a potential musical collaboration between the producer and the singer. Furthering the song’s global reach, ‘Bangaranga’ was featured in the season premiere of the American television program ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on ABC, where it accompanied a Cha Cha performance. The track, which was created by DARA and an international songwriting team including Dimitris Kontopoulos, Monoir, and Anne Judith Stokke Vik, helped secure Bulgaria’s first-ever Eurovision victory with a record-breaking margin. Building on this momentum, DARA has submitted ‘Bangaranga’ for consideration in four categories for the 2027 Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. The song has achieved notable commercial success, reaching number 90 on the Billboard Global 200 and surpassing 60 million streams on Spotify. Official Grammy nominations are expected to be announced on November 16, 2026, ahead of the ceremony in Los Angeles in February 2027.
