Iren S.p.A. has approved an updated industrial plan for the period 2026 to 2035, centered on a 10.4 billion euro investment strategy. The plan focuses on strategic infrastructure, specifically water cycles, electricity distribution, waste-to-energy plants, district heating, and energy facilities. Approximately 50% of the total investment is directed toward these areas. The company aims to increase regulated and semi-regulated activities to 80% of its business to ensure stable cash flows. Financial targets include an EBITDA of up to 1.95 billion euros by 2035, with an expected average annual EBITDA growth of 4% and net profit growth of 6%. Alongside the strategic plan, Iren announced leadership changes effective November 1, 2026. Massimo Ferrari will succeed Eugenio Bertolini as CEO of Iren Ambiente, and Gianluca Riu will succeed Fabio Giuseppini as CEO of IRETI. Both incoming executives have served as Operations Directors for their respective companies since January 2026. As part of this broader strategy, Iren Ambiente has unveiled its specific industrial plan through 2035, detailing 2.2 billion euros in investments, which represents approximately 21% of the total Group plan. This subset focuses on waste management, material recovery, and environmental services. Objectives include reaching a 75% average separate waste collection rate and managing 4.8 million tons of waste through Group plants by 2035, while increasing biomethane production. These details were further highlighted during the Ecomondo 2026 trade fair in Rimini.
