Islantilla International Film Festival proceedings concludes

The 19th edition of the Islantilla International Film Festival Under the Moon has progressed through its scheduled programming. The festival initially announced concluded. Prior to the Luna Award finalists, featuring eleven feature films and twelve short films from various countries including Spain, France, India, and Mexico. As final ceremonies, the festival approaches its conclusion, programming has expanded to include hosted a ‘Minifórum’ cycle on August 26, offering featuring free animated film screenings for children at the El Camaleón Park outdoor auditorium. Selected works included ‘April’, ‘Kronoshock’, ‘Las aventuras del joven Félix’, ‘Superescolares 2. Una mente sana’, and ‘The Piano’. The event is set to conclude festival officially closed with a closing the Luna de Islantilla Awards ceremony on August 29, where at the 2026 winners Hotel Estival Islantilla. In the official jury categories, the documentary ‘Plus Ultra’ by Elías Pérez was named Best Feature Film, while ‘Furia’, directed by Fran Moreno Blanco and Santi Pujol Amat, received the award for Best Short Film. Audience choice awards were given to the feature ‘Un hombre de verdad’ by Liteo Pedregal and the short film ‘Hasta enterrarlos’ by Marco Araújo. Special honors included the ‘Luis Ciges’ Award will be presented. for career achievement, presented to director and producer Javier Fesser, and the RTVA Award for Andalusian audiovisual creation, awarded to the short film ‘Las Malas’ by Elisa Moreno. This edition saw significant global engagement, with 1,160 productions submitted from five continents.
