A 51-year-old man, identified as H. Ö., was detained in Istanbul’s Esenyurt district following a violent traffic dispute in the Osmangazi neighborhood. The incident occurred while driver Yusuf Enis Güler was transporting his two young sisters, aged 10 and 14, to school. Reports indicate the confrontation began after Güler stopped his vehicle to allow children to cross the street, prompting the assailant to honk and shout insults. When Güler responded, the suspect allegedly brandished a weapon and threatened him. As Güler attempted to flee, the suspect pursued the vehicle and fired shots, striking the car’s trunk and rear window. Güler reportedly recorded the moments of the attack on his mobile phone. Following the arrest, police searched the suspect’s residence and recovered an air pistol, cartridges, and two knives. The individual faces charges including armed threats, attempted intentional injury, and property damage.
