In early September 2026, Italian regional initiatives for oncological prevention and breast cancer awareness continued to expand. In Vedano Olona, 478 participants joined a non-competitive walk organized by the municipality and Valbossa In Rosa to honor the memory of Simona Buemi, who passed away in July following a battle with cancer. The event promoted breast cancer prevention and solidarity through community movement. New initiatives were announced in Udine, where the organization ANDOS ODV is scheduled to host a fashion show on September 20 titled ‘Ieri, oggi, domani… il fascino siamo noi!’. The event will feature 26 models, including women currently undergoing or who have completed oncological treatments, walking alongside doctors from the CRO of Aviano and the ASUFC of Udine. This initiative aims to highlight the human connection between patients and medical professionals while promoting cancer prevention. The program will also include a photographic exhibition documenting femininity during illness. Further regional efforts were announced for the autumn season. In Parma, Komen Italia will host the second Pink Tie Ball charity gala on October 7 at the Pilotta complex. Supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Parma, the gala aims to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer, noting that early diagnosis can lead to cure rates exceeding 90%. In Carmagnola, the Andos association is increasing community outreach through several programs, including the inauguration of a ‘pink bench’ at the Riva Fair in Chieri to promote free screenings and healthy lifestyles. Additionally, the association is launching ‘CamminAndos’ walking groups starting October 1, collaborating with local health services (Asl TO5) to support cancer prevention and patient care.
