Italian Catholic pilgrimages to Lourdes 2026
Entities: Trani · Lourdes Sanctuary · Diocese of Rome · Unitalsi · Bishop Daniele Gianotti
Overview
In late July 2026 the Unitalsi Subsection of Trani, together with partner groups from Bisceglie and Corato, opened registrations for its long‑standing pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. The announcement detailed travel options by train (September 10‑16) and by plane (September 11‑15) and provided registration locations in Trani and Corato for participants of all ages, including the sick and healthcare staff.
A week later, in early August, the Diocese of Rome led a large pilgrimage of roughly 500 faithful to Lourdes, accompanied by several auxiliary bishops and priests. Simultaneously, the Lombardy Unitalsi organized a separate journey for the Diocese of Cremona with about 240 participants. The delegations took part in the traditional religious ceremonies at the grotto, including the procession of the flame, the Eucharistic procession, Mass, the Way of the Cross, and the Rosary.
