In late July 2026, Italian dioceses began publishing liturgical and pastoral schedules for the 2026–2027 ecclesiastical year. On 22 July, the Diocese of Mileto-Nicotera-Tropea released a June calendar featuring celebrations such as Corpus Domini and the memorial of St Pietro Spanò. A July schedule for the same diocese included bishop meetings and an adult-confirmation Mass. By late July, the Diocese of Pavia, with preparations by Vicario Don Davide Rustioni, issued a Pastoral Calendar to serve as a planning tool for priests and pastoral associations. Concurrently, the dioceses of Turin and Susa announced youth-focused programs, including Bible studies, university gatherings, and ecumenical prayers at Oasi Frassati. On 6 August, the dioceses of Tivoli and Palestrina released a pastoral letter, “A ciascuno… una manifestazione particolare dello Spirito,” which outlines an agenda for integral formation. This includes training sessions at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima scheduled for October and November 2026. In Pavia, Bishop Corrado Sanguineti presented the new pastoral year, citing Pope Leo XIV’s recent visit as inspiration to foster evangelisation and communal responsibility. Expanding on specialized pastoral care, the Family Pastoral Office in Livorno announced its 2026/27 initiatives. The program focuses on marriage preparation, catechism for families, and spiritual appointments for engaged couples. Notably, the office introduced ‘Percorsi di Luce,’ a specific path designed to provide reflection and reconciliation for divorced and remarried individuals, alongside new psychological and spiritual support for couples and singles. On 22 August, new initiatives for catechists were announced. In the Diocese of Acireale, Bishop Antonino Raspanti will lead a pilgrimage and diocesan mandate at the Sanctuary of Valverde on 19 September 2026, featuring a procession and Eucharist to renew the commitment of pastoral workers.
