Energy providers in Italy have been introducing various electricity and gas tariffs to address market fluctuations. In mid-August, providers such as NeN and ENGIE launched fixed-rate contracts, with NeN offering a 10-year fixed price for 100% renewable electricity and ENGIE providing 12-month fixed rates for both electricity and gas. By late August, the market landscape expanded to include a wider variety of pricing structures for September 2026. While fixed-rate options remained available through providers like Octopus Energy, ENGIE, and NeN, companies also introduced market-indexed rates and temporary promotions, such as discounts from Pulsee and e.ON. As of early September 2026, Octopus Energy launched the ‘Octopus Fissa 12M’ plan, allowing domestic users to lock in raw material prices for 12 months to protect against volatility. Under this plan, electricity is priced at 0.1595 €/kWh using 100% renewable energy, and natural gas is 0.73 €/Smc, with monthly commercialization costs of 6 euros for electricity and 7 euros for gas. Alternatively, the ‘Octopus Flex Mono’ plan links prices to the PUN Index GME and PSVDA wholesale indices, applying a spread of 0.0088 €/kWh for electricity and 0.06 €/Smc for gas. In mid-September 2026, new fixed-price offers emerged. Enercom introduced the ‘Armonia Luce 24’ and ‘Armonia Gas 24’ plans, which lock in prices for 24 months using 100% renewable energy and carbon credits; these are valid until September 30, 2026. Engie Energia offered the ‘Punto Fisso 12 mesi’ plan, featuring electricity at 0.1409 €/kWh with a 72 euro annual commercialization fee and gas at 0.69 €/Smc with an 84 euro annual fee, expiring September 9, 2026. By September 11, 2026, Octopus Energy set a deadline for its ‘Octopus Fixed 12M’ offer, which featured electricity at 0.1749 €/kWh and gas at 0.79 €/Smc.
