Italian football summer transfer window

Italian football clubs continue to manage roster changes and financial planning during the summer transfer window. Hellas Verona has seen significant movement, acquiring Kastanos, Okou, and Livramento, while losing Cabal to Juventus and Noslin to Lazio. At Bologna FC, owner Joey Saputo is evaluating investments to maintain competitiveness for European competitions following the loss of recent Champions League and Europa League revenues. As part of these movements, Argentine playmaker Benjamín Domínguez is leaving Bologna on loan to join Sassuolo. The deal includes an option to purchase. Domínguez’s two-season tenure at Bologna was marked by both highs and lows; following an impressive start that earned him recognition from figures such as Sergio Aguero and a call-up to the Argentina national team in March 2025, his playing time decreased toward the end of his stay. He recorded 24 league appearances, three goals, and two assists for the club.

Other notable activity includes Salernitana nearing a deal for free agent central defender Marco Capuano, while Torino is pursuing a loan deal for midfielder Jens Cajuste from Napoli. In lower tiers, Simone Brugaletta has joined Akragas from Modica Calcio, and Audace Cerignola is working toward a contract renewal for Carmine Cretella. Siena FC’s sporting director, Simone Guerri, has highlighted efforts to reduce the competitive gap through strategic signings. Meanwhile, Grosseto’s sporting director, Filippo Vetrini, noted concerns regarding injuries to midfielders Bellini and Cerretelli, and director Luca Palmieri has criticized a perceived lack of professionalism within the Italian football system.
