Italian inclusive sports injury prevention

Overview

In early August 2026, the TUTUS/MID project was launched at the Allinparty Inclusive Sport Festival in Milazzo, Sicily. Devised by Antonio Imeneo of UniFUNVIC Europa, the free‑access programme offered instrumental balance tests and a twelve‑month postural‑monitoring pathway aimed at reducing muscular injuries among paralympic athletes and other vulnerable groups. The initiative was supported by a coalition of banks, sport and health organisations, and the Fondazione Caponnetto.

Two days later, the festival reported record attendance and highlighted the same injury‑prevention screenings as a central feature. Organisers emphasized that the free assessments and year‑long monitoring would be expanded nationwide, creating a network that links sport, health and inclusion across Italy.
