Italian international sports competition successes

Italian athletes have achieved various successes in international sports competitions involving boxing, fencing, and TeamGym.

In boxing, the Italy Boxing Team secured one gold medal and six bronze medals at the European U17 championships, with Raul Barone winning gold in the 66 kg category. In historical fencing, the Scherma Victoria Brescia club earned two silver and two bronze medals during the Lake Hema IV event in Como.

In fencing, the Italian women’s foil team achieved a podium sweep at the Fencing World Cup in Takamatsu, Japan, with Martina Favaretto taking gold, Martina Batini silver, and Arianna Errigo and Alice Volpi earning bronze. Additionally, the Italian men’s and women’s sabre teams reached the round of 16 at the World Cup in Orano, Algeria.

In TeamGym, the Italian Junior Women’s team earned a silver medal at the European Championships in Espoo, Finland. The Senior Mix team also secured a fifth-place finish despite facing athlete injuries.

Other recent international results include the Zardini Lacedelli curling team advancing to the knockout stage of the Grand Slam of Curling in Victoria, Canada. In weightlifting at the European Championships in Durazzo, Lavinia Magistris placed ninth in the U23 69 kg category and Samuele Di Marzio finished tenth in the Junior 85 kg category.
