Italy has implemented a new ‘Semestre aperto’ (Open Semester) access model for students seeking admission to single-cycle master's degrees in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine. The scoring system awards 1 point for correct answers, while incorrect answers incur a 0.1-point penalty. Recent updates indicate that during registration, students must now indicate pursuing Medicine in English at least 10 preferred locations and an alternative course. Institutional engagement remains high; state universities is scheduled for September 29, 2026, utilizing a different selection mechanism than the Italian-language courses. Educational activities continue at the University of Insubria welcomed nearly 600 students, while Rome Tor Vergata in Rome has begun the academic year focusing on the three core scientific disciplines. In the Naples and Benevento regions, the University of Insubria, while Università Federico II and Università del Sannio continue their collaboration to provide joint orientation and maintain collaborative tutoring services.
