Italian mobile operator market competition

Italian mobile operators have initiated a series of competitive 5G data and voice promotions aimed at capturing customers from rival networks through number portability.

Initially, TIM reintroduced its Power Supreme Orange and Red offers, providing 200 GB of 5G data and unlimited minutes for 7.99 euros per month, specifically targeting users from WindTre, Very Mobile, Fastweb, Vodafone, and ho. Mobile. Concurrently, WindTre introduced new data-only plans, such as the Giga 110 5G Online series, and replaced certain GO Digital plans with GO Unlimited options. Very Mobile also launched a referral campaign offering 200 GB of data for 5.99 euros per month.

TIM subsequently expanded its targeted campaigns, introducing the TIM Power Famiglia Iron plan at 4.99 euros per month for customers switching from Iliad or other virtual operators. While the Power Supreme Orange and Red plans remained at 7.99 euros per month, they transitioned from requiring internal coupons to allowing direct activation in retail stores. Additionally, TIM adjusted its strategy for customers switching from PosteMobile, directing them toward the TIM Wonder plan at 9.99 euros per month.

In October 2026, TIM introduced further targeted mobile data offers. The ‘TIM Power Iron’ plan provides 150 GB of 5G data and unlimited minutes for 6.99 euros per month for customers porting numbers from Fastweb, Vodafone, and ho. Mobile, while those switching from Iliad and certain other providers can access 350 GB for the same price.

Further adjustments include the ‘TIM Privilege Smartphone’ plan, which increases its data bundle to 250 GB for 4.99 euros per month for customers purchasing a smartphone in installments. Additionally, the ‘TIM Mobile Smart MNP Easy’ plan will see data increases from 100 GB to 350 GB in 5G Ultra for 7.99 euros per month for new activations with automatic recharge enabled.
