At the 38th Challenge Stellina in Susa, Henri Aymonod and Francesca Ghelfi secured Italian mountain uphill titles. Aymonod won the men’s race with a time of 1:20:16, narrowly defeating Andrea Elia by 11 seconds. Aymonod, representing US Malonno, pulled away during the most technical ascent to secure the win. In the women’s category, Ghelfi of Podistica Valle Varaita claimed the national championship with a time of 1:36:00. Although Kenyan athlete Joyce Njeru recorded the fastest overall time for the women at 1:35:42, Ghelfi’s performance earned her the title. title after maintaining a strong final progression to finish ahead of Vivien Bonzi. This victory marks a second national title for both Aymonod and Ghelfi in less than a month, following their recent successes in the vertical kilometer discipline in Malonno. The course covered approximately 14.5 kilometers with 1,630 meters of positive elevation gain.
