Eleven senators from the Democratic Party, Italia Viva, and AVS wore miniskirts to assert their right to self-determination. Former Turin mayor Chiara Appendino also joined the dissent, arguing that reliability is not measured by ‘centimeters of fabric’ and calling for society to move past ‘the Middle Ages.’ The controversy has also extended to social media, where viral AI-generated images of Tajani wearing skirts have circulated.
