In early July 2026, Italy’s public employment service released a batch of temporary contracts for Sardinia and Sicily, covering hospitality, retail, construction, agriculture, and healthcare roles on the islands. In mid-July, recruitment expanded with specific listings for Sicily, including customer service, real estate, logistics, and technical trades. In Sardinia, the Sardegna Lavoro portal announced vacancies in the Olbia-Gallura and Sassari areas, featuring apprenticeships for carpenters and hairdressers, permanent roles for butchers and warehouse staff, and seasonal forestry and university-linked agricultural work. By early August, the Sardinian public employment service (Aspal) continued the drive with further openings in Olbia, Gallura, and Sassari. These included AutoCAD design apprenticeships, agricultural laborers, and roles in gardening, packaging, and healthcare support. Many of these positions were specifically reserved for disabled workers under Law 68/99. In mid-August, new opportunities were announced across Sardinia, including bus drivers, security personnel, and retail clerks in Olbia and Gallura. Additionally, Ares Sardegna began recruiting socio-sanitary operators for hospital posts under experimental 8-month fixed-term contracts. In the Sassari province, listings expanded to include plumbers, pharmacists, maintenance mechanics, and beauticians. By early September, Aspal released additional vacancies in the Olbia and Gallura areas for butchers, nautical electricians, shipyard mechanics, and logistics or administrative staff. In the Sassari province, new listings included mechanical and marine driver internships in Muros, secretarial and telemarketing internships in Sassari, and personal assistant roles in Tissi. Throughout the campaign, applications have been processed via the Sardegna Lavoro portal, maintaining a diverse mix of contract types to address local needs in public works, municipal projects, and private enterprises.
